This can only end badly. There are no national interests at stake here, the LRA is still there but is broken into factions and has been on the run for some time. Why has this military commitment been made? We have a right to know why and the administration has an obligation to tell us.

Nobody wins in Africa. It is a cesspool of tribal conflict, animist religions and even sorcery and witchcraft as major influences of actions. For a place to be the alleged cradle of man it has certainly been bypassed by everyone else in the world.

This has worse than Vietnam written all over it because it has even less reason than fighting communism. This is like a fight against the wind.

If the LRA is so dangerous the most efficient way to deal with it is to covertly hunt down the leaders, kill them, wait for successors to emerge, kill them, withdraw and wait for further successors to emerge then wash, rinse and repeat.

Thats not our job. I’m not in favor of sending our kids
to go nation building. Thats the Peace Corps job.

If Uganda needs help with its internal security let them hire experts in that field.
