I would agree that a Constitutional Amendment would be the best bet, but given Cain’s statement, I am not sure he would do that.
Perry has said he would support an Amendment defining marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman so it might be possible that he could be asked to lead the charge on abortion as well.
In the meantime, I would settle for an overturn of Roe —that would once again allow the states to decide for themselves.

Life, liberty & pursuit of happiness starts with unborn life
The Founding Fathers got it right. The Founding Fathers got it right because of those fundamental principles: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They also got it in the right order. That wasn’t an accident. Their vision meant that you could pursue happiness in America as long as you don’t infringe upon the liberties of somebody else. And you can pursue all the liberties that you want as long as you don’t infringe upon the life of anybody else. And that starts with the life of the unborn.

Defund Planned Parenthood; intent was to kill black babies
I absolutely would defund Planned Parenthood—not because I don’t believe in planning parenthood, [but because] Planned Parenthood as an organization is an absolute farce on the American people.
People who know the history of Margaret Sanger, who started Planned Parenthood, they know that the intention was not to help young women who get pregnant to plan their parenthood. No—it was a sham to be able to kill black babies.

Life begins at conception, period
I believe that life begins at conception, period. And that means that I will have to see enough evidence that someone I would appoint shares that same view. I believe that the current Supreme Court is leaning too much to the liberal side.
I’m a Christian, I’ve been a Christian all my life. I’ve been a believer in the Bible since I was 10 years old. I’m very active in my church, and there is no way I would compromise my religious beliefs about the sanctity of life. And so it starts with, will they have demonstrated, in some of their other rulings, if they come from the federal judge bench, whether or not they also share that.
Because I believe that the principles that our Founding Fathers cherished, when they founded this country, and wrote the Declaration of Independence which inspired the Constitution, they were based upon biblical principles. I want to get back to those principles as president, if I run and get elected—not rewrite those do

Cain said that he considers himself to be “a black man in America” and feels stronger ties to the United States than to Africa. He suggested his perspective has been informed by the fact that he can trace most of his ancestors to the U.S. and it also “goes back to slavery.”

And what if Roe is overturned, and the states all decide - for themselves - that killing babies is just okey-dokey with them?
No, Roe is not the horror, but merely the legal whitewash over the horror. Our country needs to be brought back to its senses from 40 years of anti-baby propaganda. Then and only then, I’m convinced, will it turn against this horror, toppling Roe with it.
Letting the states decide matters appropriate to them is fine. But this is not such a matter. Why does this nation exist, after all? The Declaration claims the purpose of “these United States” is to secure the right to life (among others). Should a threat to this right arise - whether from an individual citizen, a state, or any other entity - the nation has a duty to act. This is why abortion CAN be outlawed at the federal level, and why it MUST be should any state attempt to legalize it. If the nation fails in this duty, it has failed utterly.
This “let the states decide” argument is, for the anti-baby crowd, nothing but a fall-back position. Should Roe ever be overturned, with this argument they’ll still have on their side more than enough of us to keep the killing going while they regroup.
No, Roe isn’t “bad law” because it usurped states’ rights. It’s bad law because it gives cover to murder and overthrows the very purpose of this nation. Any proposed solution which fails to reverse that fall far too short.
