Abolish the IRS and the income tax, then I don't have a problem with a 9% Federal sales tax.
Somebody ought to explain to Cain that proposing new Federal sales taxes while keeping the income tax is not conservative.
That being said, I still like the man better than any of the other candidates save Gingrich, got a feeling that 999 is a starting point.
Just wish a candidate had the balls to declare war on the IRS, Federal Apparatchiks, Unions, domestic Communists,and lawyers.
10% Flat tax would suit me fine - provided a guaranteed debt projection and voted and vetted fiscal year budget with debt reduction built in. Might cost me, but with skin in the game, the non-payers wouldn’t be so quick to spend my kids’ and their kids’ money. These progressive schemes ignore both the debt and common sense completely. You evidently haven’t researched this plan. This will REPLACE income taxes NOT be added to them. It’s pretty much laid out on Cain’s web page.

This plan is a step towards complete elimination of the IRS. You can’t just eliminate it overnight. It’s not gonna happen. We have got to get our financial house in order first or else our society will completely collapse.
