A Cain win would neutralize the race card in the general election. Even more significantly, it would set the entire Democrat Party back — by showing blacks that it actually is possible for them to vote (R).

The headline contradicts the quote.

He said “from another campaign”, not that it was a Republican.

However, there is evidence out there that at the very least, another Republican campaign knew it was coming.

What’s wrong with doing oppo research? I’d rather have it come out now than a year from now.

According to FOX a lot of reporters have been asking the Cain campaign people about it for a week or two, and Cain’s people knew nothing about it, or so they said.

I suspect the Rovebot GOP Establishment is behind this.
Along with Romney.

That makes sense. The media was floating it to opponents to try to get one of them to use it (thus destroying two campaigns at once).

It was really stupid for that one person to tweet that it was coming as it puts eyes on their campaign.

Ace of Spades blog had information a month ago about more than the 2 settled suits.

There has also been other issues particularly about his campaign manager’s lack of financial ethics that was being discussed during that time frame.

What was it the Perry supporters kept saying? This is the vetting process, get used to it.

This is exactly how Mitt Romney’s political aides work.

This guy needs to wake up and smell the petunias. If this were a rival, they would have waited until AFTER the primaries and convention. If Cain won, THEN you dump it out.

See 28, more like the media floating things to opponents to see who would bite so they could take down two campaigns at once.

No one bit except one stupid staffer who tweeted.

The perry people were the ones posting all the BS about the story the first thing this morning.

With that said, I don’t think the Perry camp itself would do this ...

I agree with that. At townhall.com, Guy Benson states this story had been floated for ten days and pollute_ico was waiting for a formal response from the Cain campaign: " ... a series of comments over the past 10 days, Cain and his campaign repeatedly declined to respond directly about whether he ever faced allegations of sexual harassment at the restaurant association."

It is likely to have been known by all rival campaigns that it was coming and Perry's AZ campaign chair needs more self-control. Doesn't mean they planted anything though. It does fit the Romney MO and media sources historically used by them.

Cain’s camp apparently knew about the charge THREE WEEKS before it came out. Why they just sat on it, I don’t know. Politico had apparently gone to him and asked if he had any comments on it.

So I would imagine it was being pretty heavily discussed and probably had become known to people on other campaigns, too, but none of them seem to have made it public.

If you want to look for the source, look at Obama. He used exactly the same technique (releasing ugly divorce proceedings, in that case) on his GOP rival for office years ago in Chicago.

Actually try reading the story. “Might be” “could be” “may be”

There is no actual accusation in the story merely a bunch or rumor and innuendo.

Sleazy lies and innuendo are not news. Until the scumbags pushing these stories have the balls to file an official FEC complaint, their slimy rumors an innuendo are not “fact”.

So instead of lying about “vetting” admit that you cannot beat Cain on the issues and are simply desperate for anything you can throw at him.

Sure the Cain camp knew this dirt was gonna come out.

My take? THEY leaked it out themselves at the right time (now) in an effort to blame the Perry and/or Romeny campaign. At least if they were smart, they did.

This could be the plan B transition trigger for single digit, dead in the water Rick to bring up the rear for Romney. After all, someone needs to be on Romney's ticket, and if Anita can't get the White House, then Ft. McNair will do....

This could be RINO love beginning to blossom.
