That is true. I just know that the hot topic at the time of the tweet was Mark Block’s unethical history in regards to how he handled the finances. ( This came out today FWIW. http://pjmedia.com/tatler/headline/campaign-finance-allegations-hit-cains-campaign-manager/ )

However, what is happening is that some fanatics on here are trying to trash someone who works for Perry without any real evidence, just their paranoid suspicions.

This is going to backfire on these a-holes.

Cain is not only going to get tons of free publicity out of this, but he’s going to come out on top in the “controversy” itself.

As long as he sticks to his guns and doesn’t “walk it back” the way he’s done on some of the other things.

Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America wants answers from Herman Cain - (another Politico story today) She is a long-time Rick Perry supporter and has talked him up as the Romney-alternative on Fox News before he entered the race. She was National Co-Chair of Perry’s “The Response: A Call to Prayer for a Nation in Crisis”

Some of Cain’s trailer-park-trash supporters are accusing Christian gentleman, Rick Perry. No doubt the same ones who reacted with excitable fervor over Cain’s remarks/’joke’ about electrocuting Mexicans.

You don’t think some of the oppo research hasn’t actually dug up other things about Cain’s past? I’ve read a blogger who has a lot of dirt that is very well sourced that is way more disconcerting than this sexual harassment issue. I would post it here but the blogger is a liberal. I only stumbled on it when searching for information about his appointment to the federal reserve bank.

It seems a staffer in an opponents camp magically knew this was coming a few days before it hit and, shock, tweeted about it.

I’m not a supporter either, but even though Thomas was innocent he still carry’s that around with the ignorant. They’re counting on the ignorant.

Never can tell about these people. Maybe they thought they Cain was going nowhere and that they should just make hay while the sun shone. But it is up to Cain to see about this matter. Remember Ike kept Nixon even though it was pretty obvious that Nixon had lied about his finances. The Checker’s speech is a masterpiece of double talk, and true in that it was a venial rather than a mortal political sin.

No, she’s protecting herself from you nutjobs who are verging on stalking her. From the article:

“I have no idea,” chief of staff Mark Block told The Daily Caller. “No clue. I would find it hard to believe that anybody from another campaign would do that, but then again this is politics. Isn’t it?”

Maybe Mark Block doesn’t want the fact that he’s an unethical crook getting out. Oops, that is already happening. It’s called distraction, deflection and save my bacon at any cost.

I think you keep missing my point. It isn’t there was or wasn’t opposition research, it looks like the media was floating these to opposing campaigns before they ran with it.

I think they wanted another campaign to run with the story so the media could take out two at once.

This guy needs to wake up and smell the petunias. If this were a rival, they would have waited until AFTER the primaries and convention. If Cain won, THEN you dump it out.

So that would seem to prove that it wouldn't be an obummer robot, then it would have to be a pubbie that wants to destroy Herman before the primary votes.

I have no idea if that is true, and if it is which campaign it would be.

If any pubbie did this I would volunteer to execute them {after they were duly tried and convicted}.

Thanks. It could have been Perry. Or, as others on this thread have speculated, it could have gotten out there several weeks ago and drifted around, before Politico decided to go with it.

If that’s true, then it may be difficult to know who was responsible for doing this. I suppose it could even have been several people—the ones who originally started spreading the story, perhaps beginning with the women who claim they were victimized, or it could have been one of the campaigns going to Politico with it.

I suspect there was a three week delay because there really isn’t much in it.

It wasn’t any of our candidates who released it, it was politico.. I was just showing they were trying to float it to candidates to try to get them to do the dirty work for them.

Slime politics has been IN since the late ‘80s. If any president had been vetted like candidates are today, “dirt”would have been found. One just wonders why Hilary gave Obama a pass? What did Obama have on her/him?

Not disagreeing with you. As I said earlier, if the damned press had any consciences at all, they would be investigating Politico to see who gave it to them.

Timing is a consideration, too. Who would benefit most from breaking this story NOW? Romney is the perpetual Establishment candidate. But Perry needs to get back into the race pretty quick, after his numbers tanked mostly in favor of Cain, or he is probably done for.

Oh I’m sure there was plenty of dirt on ol’ Hillary. Remember 0bama’s campaign had sealed custody documents opened during his Senate race.

I think that’s a little too Machiavellian, especially for Cain! One of his big defects, to me, is that he has virtually no political experience and doesn’t really know how the game is played.

He knew they were going to come after him, so why wasn’t he prepared? Maybe he hoped it would just go away, but that shows a pretty incredible level of political naivete.
