Why bring up a Republican rival?
Is he trying to imply something?
It’s likely that he was responding to a reporter’s question.
He was asked by reporters who he thought was behind the story. It is a set up to keep the GOP fighting among themselves. His answer was designed to derail media speculation, not fule it.
The headline contradicts the quote.
He said “from another campaign”, not that it was a Republican.
However, there is evidence out there that at the very least, another Republican campaign knew it was coming.
What’s wrong with doing oppo research? I’d rather have it come out now than a year from now.
Yesterday on FOX News, Juan Williams said the source of the rumor was Karl Rove. Rove has been a Romney supporter from Day One.
