Unlike the United States of today, the Soviet Union (and the current Russian Federation) actually encouraged/encourages its students to take hard sciences, math, and other subjects.
If tuition were affordable, No problem. But a 234% increase in tuition in 15 years and no hippies protest their leftist schools! Tuition and fees at many top schools, including room and board, is approaching $60,00 year!
