Have a feeling these two are going to run against... Romney and Perry (the establishment choice).

Newt is not an establishment guy? Newt has already spent more time in DC and around the RNC than Perry could ever hope to. Isn’t Newt’s office now on K street? How is he not establishment?

Y’know, maybe this is a move to shore up each other’s weaknesses. They did all but declare at the Texas debate that they would be a ticket (just arguing over who would be on the top).

What’s Newt’s biggest weakness? He’s considered a Washington insider that has lost touch with the grass roots. Now Tea Partiers can vote for Newt without any concerns, because he’ll have the ultimate Tea Partier (Cain) along side him to keep him in touch with the grass roots.

What’s Cain’s biggest problem? He’s an outsider without experience. Now people worried about Cain’s experience can vote for him without worry, because he’ll have the most experienced and knowlegable Washington insider along with him to help him on those points.

By teaming up this early, they are both clearing the biggest objection people have had for voting for either of them.
