Newt won, because he staked out a position he will need very much in the campaign against Obama.
Now Obama can’t demonize him (and all Republicans) as favoring pushing Abuela’s wheelchair across the border and dumping her in a country she hasn’t seen in 26 years.
Diehard conservatives know she has been breaking our laws all those years, but Obama’s opponent in the general election is going to need votes from a wider range than diehard conservatives.
The others, except for Paul, did well enough. Paul needs to go away.
That is exactly what is wrong with Newt, his position changes according to what is politically expediant.
He should be nowhere near the White House.
