I have belonged to the IAFF for 48 years.

My local is great even though I do not always agree with the International.

I dislike Schaitberger and I dislike where he has taken the Union, but I also know what position I would be in with no voice.

Unlike most Unions we have a No Strike clause.
I do not know what Schaitnerger and his boys up at the International get, I do know what the Local men get and it isn’t much. But like I say the IAFF is much different form most Unions.

Thank you for your service! Trust me, without the union, you would be just fine. The country sees you as heroes. You would always have the support of the public, don’t let them tell you any different. We value police and fire fighters and would take care of you without the union. If anything, unions are giving you a black eye. We value you as we do everyone who defends us. The unions do not defend us and they do not defend you. They defend themselves. Trust me, I’ve seen it first hand. Lately, ALL the unions use you guys as poster boys for THEIR causes not yours. How many times, in totally unrelated matters have you heard them trumpeting the police and firefighters? That is why they need You. You cant tell me that you guys approve with all the crap the teachers union is doing? Why do you think they always lump you in with controvercial unions and controvercial union legistlation? Because we love you guys! Every fire fighter I have ever met has been far too honorable to be o.k. with that. At some point you will not be able to defend them any more. Until then, THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING US!!:)
