After listening to Perry's latest campaign rhetoric, he is making many different groups, angry with his stand.

I really need specifics PF. Are you talking about career government workers? That Gov. Perry said if they don't follow his policy dictates (used EPA as an example) that they'd be transferred to someplace "ugly?"

Sounds good to me and to everyone else sick to death of government agencies dictating to Americans.

What else?

I'll add this: From Perry's book, "Fed Up!"

“We are fed up with being overtaxed and overregulated. We are tired of being told how much salt we can put on our food, what windows we can buy for our house, what kinds of cars we can drive, what kinds of guns we can own, what kinds of prayers we are allowed to say and where we can say them, what political speech we are allowed to use to elect candidates, what kind of energy we can use, what kind of food we can grow, what doctor we can see, and countless other restrictions on our right to live as we see fit.”

Santorum really should be a perfect candidate if you’re a Social Conservative.

I agree.

I did not say Perry was incompetent. Read things slower and think about them a bit before you go off at the knees again.

It is the public’s perception of Perry, mostly due his own lack of ability to communicate on a national level (Not preaching to the choir) that has placed Perry where he is today. Perry's self induced image is what will be his biggest problem winning the election.

Remember when the fangirlz declared the race over when Perry was in first place for a nanosecond?

Perrynistas’ lack of political smarts and lousy judgement has become legendary.

Pretty funny that Perry’s biling himself ‘the most conservative person in the race’ and can’t even beat flipper Romney as a second choice——looks like voters aint buying the snake oil Perry’s selling.

LOL.

I was a Palin supporter. When she decided not to run I was sad but got over it quickly. If Cain drops out, I’ll deal with that as well. As much as I like politics, there’s a life to be lived outside of it! What will be, will be (I think Doris Day said that).

Polls are all over the place. I was also saying Cain wouldn't last. These are gut reactions. Snapshots.

Sorry PF but "we" are not past it. Rush spoke at CPAC just last year and lambasted Newt for his declaration that the "era of Reagan is over".

Newt will have his ass handed to him in the general.

If you say I must believe it is down to NEwt and MItt I will sadly have to pick Mitt. Not only does he have executive experience, he has a close nit family unit and that makes a difference to the electorate.

Do we have Mitt and his fine looking family up against the Obama family or Newt and his 3rd wife.

I however reject the notion those are our last two choice knowing Perry ran the Republican Governors Association and is loved and respected. I believe we are in the process of a bloodless civil war. Perry is the chosen "president" of the states and Mitt/Newt are the DC power structure candidates.

I hope to see the Governors come out in force for Perry soon. When they do and his numbers rise, I hope to see you on our team.

I don't think he could get away with refusing the debates.

Yep. An d I relish the chance to see him put his nose in the air and give a smug grin when he spouts something a 4th grader would be embarrassed about, then get soundly b-slapped by his rival debater. Un til the idiot voters of the Left see how stupid their guy is (as a President trying to keep his job vs. the first campaign, and after the mess he has caused), and are forced to defend him, we are still up the creek.

Will chime in with kudos to you for Perry’s wonderful words from “Fed Up”.

That is so American.

That is so Texan.

That is so Paint Creek.

So Rick Perry.

Yes Liz, the GOP establishment is betting on Romney. Yet 60-70 percent of the voters are switch-twitchy.

Donors to Bush absent for Perry “WASHINGTON — Fewer than one in 10 of the top fundraisers who helped George W. Bush shatter records for presidential campaign money in 2000 and 2004 have donated to Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s 2012 presidential campaign, a Houston Chronicle analysis of Federal Election Commission data has found.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney holds a wide lead over other GOP presidential hopefuls in donations received from the 939 “Pioneers” and “Rangers” who raised at least $100,000 each for the Bush presidential efforts.”……

Why don’t you try voting your conscience regardless of whether or not your candidate is on the Pubbbie ticket? You might be pleasantly surprised at the result.

Don’t be steamrollered into voting for the Pubbie RINO. You might just as well vote for a demrat.

Great points!

And to think of the struggle the country’s endured, the Tea Party surge with such high hopes in 2010 for the 2012 election — and then end up with a NEWT?

But because Newt is NEWT!?, the electorate will fall out of “love” with his motormouth fast, and all his baggage will not even have time to drop before they remember how disgusting he is.

On another post there was a discussion about the coming Pubbie convention. It reminded me that, though this is a national GOP event, the state GOPs will be able to exert some influence if they choose to do so.

Therefore, I think the Convention is a wild card yet to be played. Tea Party Conservatives need to think about that. Particularly how to take advantage of it.

There are way too many status quoists here on FR. I don’t believe the status quo will prevail this time around. There is simply too much at stake. Millions of people are unemployed. The Marxists are destroying the country in plain sight.

If we allow the status quo to prevail we deserve the bad fruit of that choice.

America needs a real seasoned veteran this time and have already vetted Newt for all of his faults. More importantly, Newt admits his past, has been honest about it and the electorate understands it. You won’t educate anyone about Newt by attacking his past. We are well beyond that at this point.

Well, maybe you are but you only get one vote.

Perry told Anita to go pick out her election night negligee b/c she was going to be sleeping with the next president of the US.

Anita is trying to figure out if Newt is coming to Austin or if she’s going to DC.
