I don’t remember any examples where Palin was imprecise about history or geography. Certainly not enough to reveal a pattern or show any lack of depth in her knowledge.
I don’t mean to be such a shrew on Sarah Palin, but the examples I have already given are in living color and on live video. I can’t help it if SNL saw it and used it for parody, which enraged Palin supporters. SNL will be doing the same to my candidate too. Probably already have, but I don’t watch SNL.
I get accused of Perry worship, whom I like and trust, but his campaign began to take on some similarities to the Palin gig. No competent issue savy teams around him in the roll out, All soundbite, fist pumping phrases to disguise the lack of depth on issues, foreign policy, and political readiness for the national stage, no “war room” to manage the media hits, seeming to believe he could ride on personality and flair alone. He plummeted after the debate flubs, and Sarah introduced the very same pattern, by never teaming up with issue specialists, but after the McCain campaign she blew off two whole years that could have been used to prepare herself. She chose fame, trademarks, shopped a new home in AZ, and made FOX apperances instead.
They had a lot in common, and that is probably why they were friends. Academics and was just too hard. They were both pretty, and personable and thought that was enough. She had two years, however, while Rick got in overnight. He has an excuse, for awhile, but she had none.
Look at Bachmann. Now she retains everything she reads and hears to a nearly a fault, and sometimes jumps the gun with too much grasp of the issues, or the gossip, and runs with it. Her competency is unquestioned on issues and she is a heck of campaigner. Rick nor Sarah will ever be accused of
having the grasp on isissues of a Newt or a Bachmann, or Santorum, etc. They just don’t like homework, when being flashy comes so much easier to them.
