IMHO....

At this very point in time, it appears the upcoming November election to decide who the next president of the US is has been decided.

We do not know, of course, who the winner is, but....

Truly now....truly....how many of the staunch supporters of the stain will change their mind between now and then and NOT "vote" for the stain? I would posit no one.

Truly now....how many of those unalterably opposed to the stain can be convinced to change their mind and come next November "vote" for the stain? Again, I would posit - no one.

So we are left with the "middle of the road-ers"...those who profess to be keeping an open mind regarding all the candidates, or who have not yet made up their mind on any one particular individual. Once more, I would posit - there are very very very few of these folks - certainly not enough to make much, if any, difference in the electoral vote count.

At no time in my memory has this country's electorate been as unalterably divided as they are now. There are those on the right and those on the left....and a tiny, insignificant lump in "the middle". And no one on either side is going to "change their stripes" and "cross over".

Sure, there are those who claim to be on either side, but who "secretly" "vote" for the candidate from the other side, but again, it is a very tiny lump of folks.

Surely there are also those of the electorate who profess to be "independent" of party affiliation.... but truth be told, they are going to "vote" either right or left. It is as highly doubtful that a lib will jump far to the right if the correct candidate wins the nomination as it is for a "right-y" to jump far to the left to support the stain if their particular candidate does not win the nomination.

So...does it matter about debates? No. Do all those upcoming political ads on radio, TV, and internet matter? No. Will the upcoming political conventions matter? No. The dye is cast; minds are made up; choices have been made. The electorate is "locked in"

So...IMHO....the election has already been decided. The winner has already been chosen. It takes only the formality of going to the polls next November and choosing. The actual choice has alreay been made.
