An advisor to President Obama who played a key role in developing the energy provisions of the so-called stimulus bill has graced the board of several companies that recently received government funds, including hundreds of million in “stimulus” money.

TJ Glauthier served on Obama’s 2008 White House Transition Team. He is widely credited with helping to craft the energy provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, also known as the “stimulus.”

In addition to serving on the boards of multiple major energy companies, Glauthier previously held two Presidential appointments during the Clinton Administration.

He was the Energy Department’s Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, the second-highest ranking official.

Earlier, he served in the White House for five years as the Associate Director for Natural Resources, Energy and Science in the Office of Management and Budget.

Glauthier is tied to several energy companies that benefited from the “stimulus” bill he helped to craft.

Wow! What a racket! Create new companies or get on the boards of existing companies then write a bill that mandates money be given to your affiliated companies.

This is like the loan shark version of a 2 yr old' temper tantrum!

Did any stimulus money actually go to anyone that wasn't connected to Obama? This is really criminal! I know....

Nobody in Congress is even interested in where the money went.

Government handouts occur in Canada too, and it drives me stark, raving, crazy. The average taxpaying Joe on the street has absolutely no say in any of these payouts. It is criminal what goes on. They hand it out to Theatre Groups and the Opera so they can get cheap tickets, or to Jazz Festivals, or Auto Racing events so everybody can afford to watch noisy cars go in a circle. Sheesh, individuals should be responsible for their own entertainment....not the government.

In fact, our Legislators shouldn't have giveaway money at all. They should only have "internal" funding for the direct operation of departments/agencies and services of those agencies. Even then, the door is wide open for wild spending. It really burns me that none of us have any say in who gets what and how much of OUR money! ....meanwhile, our respective Titanics slip below the waves of the Red Ink Sea.
