If there is no God, then why do people who supposedly don't believe in Him feel so threatened by a re-creation of His birth?

You know I always wondered that myself, especially with the Ten Commandment fight. If you don't believe in God than you must believe that a human being wrote the laws. So does that mean these people object to basic human law? What is their deal.

These anti-christian thugs tried the same thing with the local community of Warren, MI for the second year in a row. Mayor Fouts basically told them to shove it........

Fouts labeled the “Winter Solstice” sign as “antagonistic toward all religions,” and said it would “serve no purpose during this holiday season except to provoke controversy and hostility among visitors and employees” at City Hall.

Last week the group put up a banner next to the Henderson County nativity scene reading, according to the Express-News: “At the season of the Winter Solstice, let reason prevail....

The Illinois Capitol Building has one of those ridiculous "disclaimers."

It is interesting to note the giant fireball that lit up four states occurred over Wisconsin. History has shown during the time of the great Chicago fire, a great meteor shower was the culprit and burned several other communities in the northern states. Is this precursor of things to come?

5,000 people showing up is pretty impressive considering Henderson has a population of 10-11K.

What else can get ~50% of the population of a town to show up?

“At the season of the Winter Solstice, let reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”

Atheism is a religion. As such, they must then worship nature. So, I am offended by nature being displayed and demand that it be removed from all public spaces....

What the leftist aka progressive god haters cannot grasp is. There is no church of America. So there is a separation of church and state.

The LINK above to the article in the San Antonio paper is informative -- which includes quotes from protest letters sent to FFRF and given to the paper (which willingly reprinted them) that are off-color. I'm sure those kind of letters represent only a very small percentage of what that group received but....you know how it goes.

Scorn (for traditional religion, traditional family, traditional love of country) is one of the main reasons this major metropolitan newspaper has been reduced in size to that of a small community paper. And, they still don't get it.

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES- VAN ORDEN v. PERRY.. ………”The Chief Justice, joined by Justice Scalia, Justice Kennedy, and Justice Thomas, concluded that the Establishment Clause allows the display of a monument inscribed with the Ten Commandments on the Texas State Capitol grounds. Reconciling the strong role played by religion and religious traditions throughout our Nation’s history”…….
