How many Muslim families celebrate Christmas with a tree and gifts exchanged? How many Azizes go by the name “Bob?” There are no Iranian-American Christians or Christian converts?
That’s just not typical behavior of the more recent class of Islamaicized Middle Eastern immigrants. If not Christian, it would appear this family has been in the States for some time, and were not recent immigrants.
Could be they came here when the Shah fell and were relatively assimilated. Iranians, especially those who left in the late 70s, consider themselves Persian, not Arab.
But none of this massacre conforms to an ‘honor killing’ rather than a man of whatever faith and ethnicity gone berserk.
OMG, please do what others have told you, read the article. Read the other articles that have been all over FR the past two days. Quit playing what if. Friends and neighbors state they are muslims, why do you insist they’re not? As for Christmas, there’s not a law about who can celebrate it. The neighbors said they were doing it for the culture. What better way to stop the westernization of the women folk than to dress as Santa and kill them on Christmas day.
My cousins are Jewish and they have a Christmas tree with presents every year. Guess you’re going to tell me I’m wrong there, too.
I agree. If he'd just killed the wife and daughter, I'd go ahead and give it the "honor killing" stamp and move on. But he killed his son, and himself. That just seems very uncharacteristic. That's more like the stories we see of American men considered at least culturally Christian who freak out over divorce/bankruptcy and off the whole family, including themselves.
