What are the political demographics of convicted felons in the USA?

Yes, I went on Google first and looked. I checked the statistics page for the US Dept. of Justice and I also read the Status of Violent Crime report.

So I am wondering how the current population of convicted felons in the USA breaks down along party lines? How many people in prison are Democrats and how many are Republicans? Yes, I know felons generally do not vote so then what was their registration prior to their conviction?

I'm thinking this could be a very handy statistic in the upcoming election and I think it could be a handy statistic for swaying people away from the Democrat party and liberalism in general.

Good luck with that. Your average libtard identifies more with takers than producers. So does your average criminal.

Birds of a feather, you know . . .

Why? Logically the argument would be fallacious. (Bonus points if you can name the fallacy.)

Voting democrat isn't a problem if more felons were/are registered democrat. Voting democrat is a problem because democrats are wrong on the issues.

Attack the issues with reason and logic, don't succumb to the pressure to develop talking points, internet memes, and bumper sticker slogans.

Oh that’s easy.

I’ve always said Democrat is the party of criminals and deviants. That’s obvious.

Liberals favor the criminal element in our society.

Ye shall know them by their fruit.

Never mind their associations.

How would you find out the percentage of felons that are even registered voters? Is that something that is recorded when they are arrested?

Convicted of felony and incarcerated usually has a major effect on voting rights. Depends on the state.

I’m a convicted felon who votes conservative.

The point is that we have an ever growing list of non violent felony crimes that have no business being felonies.

I wouldn’t worry too much about “active” felons voting. Chances are that they really can’t be bothered with voting. I think Maine is the only state that allows voting in prison which is always a bad idea.

Academic work by Jeff Manza and Marcus Britton of Northwestern University and Christopher Uggen of the University of Minnesota estimated that Bill Clinton pulled 86 percent of the felon vote in 1992 and a whopping 93 percent in 1996.

Most Felons Are Democrats

Yes, I know felons generally do not vote

Well, in recent years which party has made a push for felons and prison inmates to vote?

How can anyone know what is the political choice of felons. I am a felon, but I been voting Conservative since 1980.

Don't ever say that x is something. I did my time and now I am a productive citizen.

Very true we got a lot of laws that should not be felonies.

They probably come from a demographic that doesn’t vote very much.

I was given a felony assault for defending myself...it didn't give me a sudden urge to use the Constitution for toilet paper...I leave that for government employees. Besides, I still have a few pages left in my Koran...who knew the Sutras would be so soft and absorbent. /s

I remember reading a statistic years ago that said that 97 percent of felons were Democrats. That clearly explains why the Democratic party is pushing to allow them to vote.

“Your average libtard identifies more with takers than producers.”

I’m not sure that’s true. Liberalism may be viewed as a joint venture between the Ruling Class and the Poor against the Middle Class. Seen that way, ruling class members certainly wouldn’t want their daughter to marry one of the ‘takers’. They should marry in-class. Nor would they devise government programs that actually help the ‘takers.’ The ruling class only tolerate the poor to keep the middle class from taking power from the current ruling class.

So I don’t think the ruling class actually identifies with the poor so much as exploits them.

I recommend focusing on State Penitentiaries and County Jails.
That’s were they keep those most dangerous to you and me.

Federal Penn’s house the white collar criminals, notwithstanding the criminal masterminds in the maximum security prisons.
The average Joe, will survive in Federal prison, but no so in the state house.
