So you think we may well peak at up to 9 billion people before something causes a rapid population contraction?

If so then I would be worried about what was causing the population contraction - because it wasn't and isn't declining birth rates.

Delusional or not, you certainly haven't been paying any attention to the discussion in this thread.

Fertility rates at or below replacement level will eventually cause decreasing global population numbers as the elderly die off.

Which part of this simple fact don't you grasp?

The part I “don't get” is where we have declining population numbers - because we are near 7 billion now - and will probably reach 8 or 9 billion before a population collapse you propose.

If so then the collapse seems to be the RESULT of overpopulation - and proposing people increase their birth rate only accelerates the increase to 8 or 9 billion before your proposed population collapse.

Once you admit the population is going to keep increasing from our near 7 billion now to as much as 9 billion - the specter of declining birth rates is about as scary as a Scooby Doo monster with its mask off.

So once again, because you seem to be from Rio Linda....

An increase from 7 billion to 8 billion and climbing is a lot more likely than Earth's population declining to 6 billion or fewer and declining.

Declining birth rates will not cause a catastrophic decline in human population - but overpopulation well might.

Not only is an increasing human population more likely than a declining human population - based upon the evidence - but it is also more troublesome.

I realize you have a religious angle that clouds reality for you - your bias on this subject is apparently insurmountable by reality.

Good luck sounding the drum against population decline amid this rapidly growing human population of Earth.
