Palin: “this ridiculous dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque re-writing of history”
Legal Insurrection ^ | 1/27/12 | William Jacobson

Posted on 01/27/2012 7:15:55 PM PST by Lakeshark

Sarah Palin just launched a thousand points of fright at Team Romney and the Republican establishment who have been going after Newt’s relationship with Ronald Reagan, via Facebook:

We have witnessed something very disturbing this week. The Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan in the 1970s and which continues to fight the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media and the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent….

I am sadly too familiar with these tactics because they were used against the GOP ticket in 2008….

But this week a few handpicked and selectively edited comments which Newt made during his 40-year career were used to claim that Newt was somehow anti-Reagan and isn’t conservative enough to go against the accepted moderate in the primary race. (I know, it makes no sense, and the GOP establishment hopes you won’t stop and think about this nonsense. Mark Levin and others have shown the ridiculousness of this.) To add insult to injury, this “anti-Reagan” claim was made by a candidate who admitted to not even supporting or voting for Reagan. He actually was against the Reagan movement, donated to liberal candidates, and said he didn’t want to go back to the Reagan days. You can’t change history….

What we saw with this ridiculous opposition dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque re-writing of history. It was Alinsky tactics at their worst.

I could see if the situation only involved liberals, the elite media or elite republicans. But it's way deeper than that. And some of it was coming from Palin friendly sources.

It's one thing to stick with your friends. It's quite another to ignore all the participants.

I think this pretty much ends any speculation that she would EVER endorse Romney, she will never endorse that sack of crap..even if he is the nominee, she knows what Romney is, we ALL know what he is, but unfortunately many in the GOP have decided to go the leftist route and support a progressive leftist who is basically Obama with an R next to his name

Time to begin campaigning against the same people who sank you Palin. Two sides of the same coin.

Pray for America

Already posted, but good to see that another source has picked it up.

This is a very powerful statement, which everyone should read closely and in its entirety.

I’ve emailed it out to a few of my conservative friends.

It is all proceeding as I have foreseen it.

She won’t endorse Romney. Newt will fall. Romney will clinch by March

And then....

I think ROMNEY put an end to that possibility.

On the STUPID notion that the voters would choose Øbama-lite.

Why settle for Øbama-lite when you could have the real thing?

I’ll finish your sentence, as much as it pains me to say it, if Mitt gets the nomination, Obama is a lock for re-election. One of the main reasons why McCain lost in 2008 is because he didn’t get enough Conservative votes. I started listening to Mark Levin in early 2008(Guess you can say I really got into politics late LOL) and I heard caller after caller say how they will just stay home and not vote..now just imagine if Romney is the nominee, how many will stay home..it will make the McCain numbers seem trivial in comparison

Palin: "Look at Newt Gingrich, what’s going on with him, via the establishment’s attacks.
They’re trying to crucify this man and rewrite history, and rewrite what it is that he has
stood for all these years."

Stalin would have just had Newt killed in the middle of the night. We can’t assassinate men so easily anymore so we have to settle for assassinating their character and reputation. That’s what’s going on. At this point, I truly am sorry to say, I’m really having to ask myself who I hate more, Mitt Romney or Barack Obama. I don’t see a heck of a lot of difference between the two. Maybe if I was a little less informed it would be easier to make a decision.

I hate Romney more than Obama. Don’t get me wrong I hate both of them. But Mitt is easily more detestable.

I agree with you on that. Romney has fallen to almost meet my expectation of him. Overtly all smiling white teeth. Covertly a shark willing to do anything.

He is a sorry lying bastard with principles (none at all) equal to obastard. He has demonstrated that he is obastard light with blessed underwear.

I have a question - how come GOP candidates don’t mind vomit, blood, guts, and fighting tooth-and-nail when it is aimed at each other... but when the General Election comes - they soft-shoe.

In 2008, McLame refused to play any form of hardball, and he put a muzzle on Sarah... and what happened?

It’s one thing to use the primary time to vet candidates and problems that will CERTAINLY come out in the General election... but the level of crap being thrown by GOP candidates (and their insane PACs is sickening.

Oh, come on, that's an insult to sharks! ;^)

My dad has a phrase to describe the likes of Romney that's better: "Impotent little maggot."

I wonder if that magic underwear protects the wearer from chaffing as well as evil? I could use some underwear like that.
