Tennessee is the home for the production of the 2013 Infiniti JX. This is the first luxury vehicle ever produced in the “Sounds Good to Me” state. The first 2013 Infiniti JX rolled off the production line in Emerald Green. A special ceremony at Nissan’s Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant was organized to celebrate the occasion. The 2013 Infiniti JX 7-passenger ride is set to go on sale nationwide at Infiniti retailers in the upcoming month.
Susan Brennan, Vice President Manufacturing Smyrna – Decherd exclaimed, “We are extremely proud and honored to be building this world-class vehicle right here in Middle Tennessee. We expect the inspired design and quality craftsmanship built into every new Infiniti model that rolls off the Smyrna production lines will deliver inspired performance that is second to none.”
The 2013 Infiniti JX hosts a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine that offers a significant 265-horsepower. Even with the get up and go, it delivers the best-in-class fuel economy with 21 miles per gallon for front wheel driving and 21 miles per gallon for intuitive all wheel driving. This engine is made in Decherd, Tennessee, close to the production plant.
Along with superb fuel efficiency the 2013 Infiniti JX features the world’s first Backup Collision Intervention system. Infiniti is excited to offer this new first-to-market technology. It includes the use of sensors installed in the rear of the vehicle that detect potential obstacles. This makes it fool proof for backing out of parking spaces or parallel parking. If the driver does not heed the visual and audible warnings, the system will take over and apply the brakes to avoid impact.
Infiniti Americas Vice President, Ben Poore remarks, “The luxury crossover market is the fastest growing luxury segment in America, representing a huge opportunity for Infiniti. In fact, we expect JX to quickly become our second highest volume model, right behind the popular Infiniti G-line.”
