Ok, there is a piece of the Selective Service Card that I have not seen discussed yet. Barack Obama's 18th birthday was August 4, 1979, not 1980. So why is there a July 29, 80 stamp on his card, when we was approaching his 19th birthday?

If you are a man ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service. It’s the law. According to law, a man must register with Selective Service within 30 days of his 18th birthday.

Carter reinstated the Selective Service in July of 1980, everyone born before 1960 was excluded. Those born on or after Jan 1 1960 over 18 had six days to register.
