I would think you would mean when did he become BARRY Soebarkah. My guess would be 1965, or shortly after they arrived in Indonesia. As I mentioned, Indonesian law makes adoption of a child younger than five, automatic. All the father has to do is admit he accepts the child to a governmental official. No fuss.

I wanted to point out to you that her first passport application was dated in July 1965, and that was the passport from which she had the name SOEBARKAH removed, so he must have been on her US passport by that name in July 1965.
What you need now is the date of the Soetoro/Obama marriage and the date of the passport application. But you won’t be certain of anything, because she gave TWO marriage dates, and one was several days before the divorce from the kenyan was granted.

I read a it long time ago and it’s utter garbage, there was never any need to fabricate the name SOEBARKAH from scraps of any other names, there is a village of that name in Indonesia, the name Soebarkah (written as Subarkah after Suharto) comes up as one of the pall-bearers for President Suharto, he was part of KORPASSUS, Indonesian Special Forces - it’s not me that needs to read up on things, you are the one limiting the discussion and research by your
narrow point of view.
