Inability or at least SEEMING inability to calculate cost is not new. I saw instances of people forty or fifty years ago buying a new “economy” car and claiming to save enough on fuel to make the monthly payment. This would only have been mathematically possible had they been driving on the expressway twelve hours a day seven days a week and were switching from a two mile per gallon car to a thirty mile per gallon car. Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration but the point is that in those days they would have had to be driving so much that the car of that period would have been in need of a bumper to bumper rebuild before it was even half paid for. When people claim to do what is MATHEMATICALLY impossible there is no question of right or wrong, they MUST be wrong by the laws of arithmetic, like those who claim their fuel cost is one hundred and fifty percent lower with the new car.
I am NOT surprised to see some Volt owners who actually think they are saving money. The human capacity for willful ignorance is unlimited.
As demonstrated November 4, 2008 and countless other times.
