If they weren’t so determined to nominate a candidate to oppose Obama in November

I get the joke, but don't really think the Republicans are doing squat to oppose Obama.

The Republican establishment is too afraid that the media will call them racists if they aren't nice enough to Obama (who, meanwhile, is treating his opponents with unprecedented incivility which he never gets criticized for).

We've already seen several examples in 2012 of how the media can create a firestorm to benefit Obama or his agenda--Komen vs. PP, the initial handling of the Obama/Sebelius mandate on birth control and the phony "accommodation," the Fluke dog-and-pony show and the "outrage" whipped up against Rush Limbaugh.

It's only going to be more intense as we closer to November, especially if they see any danger that Obama may lose.
