Wow, I had quite a few pings on this thread, just overnight,
so I address all.

Yes, I have thought of removing Carbonite from my computer, even though I have a few months left on my subscription.
I first have to make sure I have all photos and docs on my thumb drives.
I have decided that the thumb drives can hold all that I need to save, and I will not need the full time online backup.

As for onsite backup, as I have said many times, it is no good if you have fire, theft, or other natural disaster.
With thumb drives, however, I can keep those offsite.

Carbonite must be feeling the heat. I actually had an Email from them this morning. It was just a folksy mass-mail newsletter, with no mention of their problem or my cancellation, but is the first that I have received since I started using them nine months ago.

Still wanting the conservative leaning audience...

Then, they can want in one hand, and squat down, drop their pants, and do something else into the other, and see which hand gets full faster...
