you mean like this ?
How is that relevant to what the Founders considered a Natural Born Citizen? Congress does not have the power to define or re-define terms used in the Constitution. If they did, then they could re-define "arms" to be "pea-shooters" and the Second Amendment would be dead.
The obvious intent of the Founders was to eliminate one very great threat that a President would have divided loyalties or even the appearance of divided loyalties.
Who can deny that Obama has the appearance of divided loyalties?
Lib chicks WERE the easy ones back then...I've heard that the tradition continues.
After-birthers are intellectual cabbages.
They all want the constitution relegated to the septic tank.
Au contraire. By then he'll have all key positions in government planted with his commie cosorts. You know what they say about firing a government employee - it never happens. These will be the movers and shakers. These will be the ones who decide which direction the US will take. These will be the ones who make the rules. This is his hope and change. This will be his legacy. This will be the end of the US as we know it. They will have won.
“...if she had he would be a Natural Born Citizen no matter where he was born.”
Not so. You need to do your homework. Panama Juan and I are both dual. We both carry Panamanian citizenship as well as U.S.
Dual citizens cannot become president.
He dicho!!!
A Fluke by any other name ...
Nor, sadly, are most "conservative" talk show hosts who defend the Constitution when it is convenient for them to do so -- and who condemn those of us who want the matter thoroughly investigated.
There are so many unanswered questions and demonstrable lies surrounding the socialist president and his administration that one would think if for no other reason than mere curiousity that the likes of Medved, Hewitt, Levin, et al. -- all of whom I admire and enjoy -- would show an ounce of interest or at least stop condemning (a carefully chosen word) those of use who do.
However, if Bozo was born in Kenya, by the laws in effect at that time, he is NOT a natural born citizen or any type of American citizen.
Oh, yes, one more thing. Please cite me the article(or amendment)that specifically states this. There isn't one, so you can't. McCain is indeed a natural born citizen and can(but hopefully won't ever)serve as US President.
Should the matter be resolved prior to the DNC convention, the target change will confound the GOP, hence I would posit "interference" is being run from both sides thus reducing the possibility of Hillary or the like in the mix.
Wrong again.
I was born in the Canal Zone (not Colon, Rep of Panama, as was Panama Juan).
All of us who were born in the Canal Zone or in Panamanian territory...Panamanian territory like Panama Juan...I was born in Gorgas Hospital, Ancon, Canal Zone...are considered dual by the State Department.
Period.
If you dont like the law, go fight the State Department.
“Dual citizens cannot become president.”
Cite the United States law, please.
P.S.
I never fully answered you comment.
There are two prerequisites to be a natural born citizen. One prerequisite cannot be separated from the other. They are both tied together.
1. Both parents have to U.S. citizens at the time of the childs birth.
2. That child has to be born with the continent of the U.S.
Both Panama Juan and I failed at #2.
Again, do your homework.
Oh crumbs...
I need a rewrite...too many errors...sorry...I wrote too fast.
P.S.
I never fully answered “your” comment.
There are two prerequisites to be a natural born citizen. One prerequisite cannot be separated from the other. They are both tied together.
1. Both parents have to U.S. citizens at the time of the childs birth.
2. That child has to be born “within” the continent of the U.S.
Both Panama Juan and I failed at #2.
Again, do your homework.
Again, I need to be more careful about my typing. Sorry.
“Cite the United States law, please.”
You cite the U.S. law they can. Please.
More likely Birthers will just become more marginalized as none of that happens and people will move on to other conspiracy theories.
Birthers want it to be that, case closed.
Anyone who disagrees is an O-Bot who hates the constitution.
That is unless they are a Birther who can produce and even wilder claim. Then it's OK.
The “he born here” folks make me sick. I dream of meeting one of these “big thinkers” in public so I can bait them into throwing a punch.
entiendo
(When Romney’s father ran for Potus, a legal analysis was recorded into the Congretional Record.)
While not a binding legal case, it represented a well researched legal conclusion. 1. George Romney was not eligible, born in Mexico. 2. Native born=natural born. 3. No mention of Emerich de Vattel
George Romney dropped out, before this eligibility became an issue. He fared poorly in polls, as well.)
