That and the popularity of "American Idol." Somewhere along the line we have to accept that most of the American electorate has been dumbed down so much that restoration is next to impossible.
Just prepare yourself the best you can, continue working for American values, but be realistic.
I liked that show better back when it was called, "The Gong Show", at least they had "Gene Gene the Dancing Machine."
