Only days after clearing Congress, US President Barack Obama signed his name to H.R. 347 on Thursday, officially making it a federal offense to cause a disturbance at certain political events — essentially criminalizing protest in the States. RT broke the news last month that H.R. 347, the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011, had overwhelmingly passed the US House of Representatives after only three lawmakers voted against it. On Thursday this week, President Obama inked his name to the legislation and authorized the government to start enforcing a law that has many Americans concerned over how the bill could bury the rights to assemble and protest as guaranteed in the US Constitution.

We’ll see how they like this law at a ‘later date’.

Trial balloon to see how the sheeple react to the step-by-step approach to martial law in everything but the name.

Guess who won't be charged with this law while protesting. If you guessed liberals protesting anything conservative or Republican, you're probably right.

He wants to rush this through by election time so when he declares himself King for Life he’ll have no opposition.

You have the right to protest and still do. You do NOT have the right to protest anywhere you want.

This will backfire on the Occupoop movement.

This could backfire big time on the libs.

While I think the itended target was the tea party, OWS will be hurt more significantly.

They are more bellicose and will be at every political rally for either party's candidate.

It will be particularly interesting to see how selectively this is applied.

My God, this is a terrible day for our Republic. Dear Lord, please save us from this man, this usurper, this enemy of all that is good.

They’ll take it beyond protesting. Notice the work “knowingly” was taken out. IOW, when you go to work at your lower level government job at 8 am but at 10 am Hussein decides to push the button then anyone not in lockstep with him is subject to arrest. You gotta think ahead with this bozo.

Depending on how selectively this bill is enforced,it might not even affect the OWS movement.

Close but no cigar. The word removed was “willingly”. Of course a person protesting would know they were protesting... the change means that the protester would have to understand that they were deliberately breaking the law...

IOW, I can protest all I want, in an orderly, legal way. It’s possible that this law will be unevenly enforced (Point me to a law that isn’t unevenly enforced!) but that isn’t the point of the change.
