I am not a supporter of Santorum. I’m scratching my head over why he’s focusing on this instead of, oh, I dunno, the country going bankrupt.

But I think it’s folks like you who forget their history. The obscenity laws were and have been on the books for centuries. CENTURIES.

If you think banning obscenity is the equivalent of the Inquisition, then I’d have to agree with some other folks here....we are definitely too far gone to save.

You look up the America the Founding Fathers gave us. You tell me whether they gave carte blanche to the production and dissemination of obscene materials in this Republic.

The Founding Fathers gave the country to a free people, with the explicit purpose of keeping the national government out of the lives of the people, with people issues being delegated to the authority of the states.

As somebody mentioned, if Santorum is intending to do this, it will not stop at preventing you from looking at gross and disturbing pictures, your conduct on the internet will be completely policed by the feds.

You should know, just from the education system, that when the feds get involved in people issues, it always ends up with the feds promoting its agenda, regardless of whether it is good for the people.

He's not. This is based on a statement from Santorum's website that some enterprising reporter made into an article with he (apparently successful) intent of riling up the porn-hound libertinarian-types. As far as I can tell, it's been up for a while and the content is not exactly earth-shattering--unless you're addicted to pornography.
