A Rankin County Mississippi teenager pleaded guilty yesterday to running over a black man with his truck, killing him. He did this after he beat him and yelled white power several times. Teen and some friends left a bonfire 30 minutes from Jackson and came to Jackson looking for blacks to beat up. Video of the entire hearing included. Judge was a Republican when on city council and known as pretty conservative.
Deryl Dedmon deserves the death penalty, not life.

It’s going to be an ugly life...and he deserves it.
Still, I hope somebody visits this guy and converts him to Christianity. Among the corporal (physical) works of mercy in the Catholic Church was visiting the imprisoned and among the spiritual works of mercy was instructing the uninformed.
So he could still make something of his life if he converts and understands what life is all about.
May God give him that grace, which will also be his own punishment, because acknowleging the wrong that he has done will make him suffer all his life. And he will only be able to make himself stop suffering by doing good.
Many saints were made this way.

If he did that, he should feel lucky to be getting life. The media wants to bring out the worst in, but good people will prevail with their best. The good thing about good people is that they tend to think for themselves.
Apparently my post was radically misinterpreted by a few so I’ll go slow and try to ‘splain it to you. I was commenting on Los Vegas Ron’s post that we are seeing a lot more of these stories, ie white on black murder. While the vast majority of interracial murders are committed by blacks on whites we rarely ever hear about it outside of the local area while. Can you explain why?
Things do not look good.
I don’t agree with any hate crimes multipliers (for anyone, we are all equal), but life in prison sounds correct, if they are not going to give him the death penalty.
FBI stats show when it comes to violent crimes involving whites and blacks, whites are the victims of blacks over 90% of the time. Only about 10% of violent cases are white on black crimes.
Media fails to do their job reporting the massive amount of violent black on white crime to put things in accurate perspective.
I don’t believe in such enhancements either but this case would be the poster child for such is you favor them. Read the transcript I posted of what the prosecutor said.
The sentence was too lenient, in my opinion.

Well, if the guy was a member of some hate group, they might have offered him a deal to testify against others. Or maybe they just wanted to save money on all the costly death penalty appeals that go on forever.

It came out in the news today, that in Mississippi law, for a homicide to get the death penalty, there must be an underlying crime, not just the homicide itself.
In this case, they first believe that the killers took his wallet, but that turned out to not be the case. Had they done so, or committed some other crime beyond murder, they would have asked for the death penalty.
While it sounds foolish on the surface, this makes sense, because homicides are typically either emotion based, which are most commonly domestic disputes, that the public believes does not rise to the level of the death penalty; or crime based, which the public believes does reach that level.
This case in MS is the one that deserves some outrage, the Martin case is being used to whip up frenzy based on lies.
My point is all of the sudden these stories are popping up everywhere, call it what ever you want, but these people have an agenda, and it isn't the faux outrage of a black kid getting shot.
Because there wasn't a gun involved, and therefore, the libs can't use it to attack the Second Amendment.

Simple, this guy is going to prison for life, and the other guy hasn’t been charged with a crime. I’m not saying he should be, but in the minds of blacks, they think he is walking the streets because “institutional racism” is helping him get away with a racially-motivated murder.
You’re surely right that the race hustlers have an agenda, but this story is not an example of it.
