I’m reminded of Tom Wolfe’s book The Bonfire of the Vanities. If you haven’t read, now might be a good time.
I LOVE that book. I’ve been meaning to reread it since it first came out. Tom Wolfe, of course, went through the ‘70s & ‘80s in outta-control NYC and wrote that wonderful book with a poison pen!
I thought that the minute the real facts started coming out about this case. It’s almost exactly like the book. And will probably continue to be right up until Zimmerman is railroaded into jail.
Thanks for mentioning. This is a Tom Wolfe I haven’t read. For anyone wondering what is happening today, a good background is Tom Wolfes’ “Radical Chic and Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers”. “The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test” made me sad about the mind we lost when Ken Kesey turned to drugs. I will pick up “Bonfire of the Vanities”.
