Has anyone successfully synced Windows Live calendar with Google calendar? I have a tried various methods that come up in a Google search, but none work. Ultimately,I want my Windows Live calendar to sync with my Android (google) tablet. But the only apps I can find for Android (Hotmail + Seven) and Remo Sync have their own problems.
Hotmail installs on Andriod and links to my Windows Live calendar (as well as Google). And my Windows Live calendar then displays on my Android. But, if I turn off my Android and reboot at a later time, the sync is gone. Re-installs act the same way.
Remo Sync installs well and displays my Windows Live calendar, contacts and Tasks. But, it's a 2 week trial and when the 2 weeks are up, I have to buy the license. When I go to buy the license I get an error message that I can't get a link. Re-installs continue to have the same problem. I've dealt with Remo support to no avail.
All other calendar programs deal with Google calendars; not Windows Live.
I know we have a large number of IT people here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Syncrhonization with my desktop Outlook was a primary consideration for picking a phone about two weeks ago.
I was ready to part ways with Blackberry after more than a decade.
Here’s what I found:
1. The latest version of Windows Mobile 7.0 will not USB synch with desktop Outlook. They want you on their cloud.
2. Google’s Android devices want you on their cloud. They synch with nothing on the desktop.
3. There are third party products that will allow synch from phone to desktop.
4. There are METHODS for downloading a file from either Android OR Live and synching with a phone or a tablet. They tend to be ‘batch’ in nature.
5. In the end, ONLY BLACKBERRY would provide seamless synch to Outlook via USB. I couldn’t believe it. I had the funeral, and was ready for a new Android universe, since there was no way in hell I was buying Apple anything.
6. Been using Google apps for about two years now and it is not only not very good, but also, not getting any better any quickly. I don’t think, frankly, they care. They are, however, requiring Android users to migrate from Live to Apps in order to have phone synch to the cloud.
7. I respect your decision to migrate to the cloud, but the arrogance of charging me to be in the cloud, and then using everything I send to them for commercial purposes, privacy be damned, is something to which I’ll never agree.
I will NEVER send personal contacts trusted to me by the people who gave them to me to some cloud for exploitation’s sake. It’s amazing, really. Google with their ‘Don’t be evil.’ Those days are over.
I don’t have Outlook. I’m using Windows Live which is the replacement in Windows Vista and Windows 7 (Windows 7 is what I run) for the old Outlook Express. It expands Windows Express to provide calendar, contacts and tasks data similar to Outlook.
Nor do I have a smartphone. What I’m interested in is syncing my Windows Live desktop (via their online Windows Live cloud site) with my Android tablet. Android is a Google development and that’s why most calendar apps that are available for Android sync the Google calendar, not the Windows Live calendar. What I thought was, if I could sync my desktop Windows Live calendar with a Google calendar, it should show up through that sync to my Android tablet’s calendar. But so far, nope. Can’t get it to work.
There are numerous sites available through a Google search that say it can be done. But when you post the Windows Live ICS code in Google calendar, I get the error message stating it’s not a workable URL.
I’m at the point of giving up. I’ve played around with this most of the day and am getting nowhere fast. Even Microsft’s own Hotmail app for the Android doesn’t work. It works initially, but when you turn off the Android, then back on again, the connection is lost.
Good luck dealing with that Android Hotmail app thingy. I have a Kindle Fire and was looking through the Hotmail app
instructions.
All I was trying to do is get one of my calendars to send notifications of recurring events. That took me two months to get that working right.
Yeah, I gave up too. Google apps can’t handle simple appointment requests.

Exactly. BTW, I don't pay for my Windows Live service. I simply use it to maintain my calendar, contacts and to-dos. Since it's integrated along with my desktop email it makes for a fine one-stop program to handle it all. All I want is to be able to port it over to my Nook Color/Android tablet. That's all. But nope. Can't do that. Because its a Microsoft product, and Android is a Google development doncha know.
I simply got a Windows Phone. All my problems went away. Outlook on my computer syncs with my Hotmail accounts (and one Gmail account) and I have three tiles (although they could be merged), one for each account on my WP7.
I have the updates set to every hour but if I manually hit refresh on both my computer and phone they can sync within 20 seconds.
I’m retired and have no need for a smartphone. All it does is cost more for the service. I’m happy with what I have, just would like to sync my PC and my tablet. I don’t think that’s too much to ask, but apparently Google and Microsoft are more interested in turf than service.
