Ain’t clowns, boys and girls.

It’s ballot box or the bullet box—IFFFFF we make it to November. I fear the latter.

The entire "article":

Fox News’ Childers Chided Over Tweet On Obama Eligibility
(ACN Staff)

Say it ain't so. It would appear that the media blackout on Barack Obama’s eligibility at Fox News now extends to innocent posts by reporters on personal Twitter accounts; and Fox News anchor Heather Childers may have just found out the hard way that real efforts to “vet” The Anointed One on Fox News are verboten.

On Tuesday, in what can only be described as an honest attempt to do some fact-finding, Childers sent out a message on her Twitter account which simply read “Thoughts?” and linked the tweet to a story titled “Did Obama campaign threaten Chelsea Clinton’s Life 2 Keep Parents Silent?”

The linked story reports on recent and earth-shattering allegations from liberal Hollywood film producer Bettina Viviano that Team Obama may have threatened the life of Chelsea Clinton to silence Bill Clinton from bringing up the subject of Obama’s eligibility during the 2008 campaign.

One would think that reporters are encouraged to investigate stories. One would assume that a simple one word post soliciting comments on an erupting news story is to be commended. Apparently not, after being taken to task by Media Matters, Fox News executives went into full blackout mode.

While we may never know the full story of what went on behind the scenes at Fox News, we do know that Childers’ tweet came to the attention of Media Matters executive vice president Ari Rabin-Havt, who tweeted a terse and sarcastic post back to Childers: “Your skills are impressive @HeatherChilders, Birtherism/Clinton conspiracy in 1 tweet. Does Fox News give you special training for that?”

Childers tweeted back: “I know Media Matters strives 2b FACTUALLY correct so attach the article plz. I was asking 4 opinion.”

Apparently, Childers’ dignified responce wasn't good enough for the folks at Media Matters, or Fox News for that matter. In a subsequent tweet, Childers, noting the irony of the incident, actually apologized for having the audacity to simply ask a question: “Here's the thing folks... the ONE topic sure got alot of you tweeting. Why? I apologize if the article offended anyone. Very interesting.”

But it wasn't over. That same afternoon, according to Media Matters, Childers deleted the Twitter post and a Senior VP at FOX News, Michael Clemente, grovelled: “The tweets have been addressed with Heather and she understands this was a mistake.”

And there you have it. It's clear that the executives at Fox News now believe that following leads, soliciting the opinions of others and digging for facts are “mistakes.” Is this the same “fair and balanced” network that promised to “vet Obama?”

Developing...
