It was called the state line mob
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Line_Mob#_
Supposedly one of Gillich’s shooters had a hand in the botched killing of Pusser in which his wife died
Even Jackson had a Marcello branch....Leo Hall...aka Bonofiglioli.....vending...juke boxes....pinball payoff machines...and so forth
Like i said though....like bootlegging....this stuff is largely over
No kidding?
You had a front row seat to view history!
It’s good to see you. Hope you are doing well.
Turn me on, dead man.
Get a grip. He said he was a kid at the time.
Sheesh.
Mrs. L. Thinks Tim Olyphant is “real easy on the eyes.”. LOL
Heh, I agree with Mrs. L. ;o)
Yepper - I came to Biloxi (Keesler AFB) in ‘86 the year befor it went down with the Sherrys. Gillich was bad, but Halat made him look like a slightly wayward Boy Scout. The whole deal ade me wonder about the South. 26 years later and it’s my home...this “damn Yankee” never left and wishes he had grown up down here.
My goodness...an Air Force guy! I didn’t know that. Thank you so much for your service.
So glad you’ve come to like it there.
Some folks think northerners who come and don’t leave are “damn yankees.” To me, those who come and appreciate it are honorary born and raised Southerners.
In ‘86, I was living in Wilmington, NC., which is why I didn’t hear about this case. I liked it there, but wished I was in Missippy.
Wait...I knew that you were Air Force.
Lordy...getting old is a challenge, and it’s not for wimps. ;o)
Not a problem - the only time I "remember" something about another Freeper is when their post nudges me to look at their info page.
So ture about old age being for the strong at heart - time speeds up and the seasons pass before you know it. I remember when a Summer seemed to last forever, but alas, no longer.
Happy Freeping...
Song about the dixie mafia....my favorite “drive by truckers” song. Reminds me of my daddy...who turned 67 Thursday.

“I put more lawmen in the ground than Alabama put cottonseed”.
i saw them a few years back with Reckless Kelly
Since I’m now living in Oregon, summer is a blink of the eye. It was 37 degrees this morning. ;o)
I can’t wait to be able to spend more time there. I’m going to sweat my little heart out...and am looking forward to it. lol
Happy FReeping to you!
