Photo #1 looks like the bobcats we have in the foothills of S. California — lots of spots, lean, back legs larger than the front. Sometimes we’ve heard them yowl at each other — the big dog took off after one recently thinking he’d catch it.
One “nice” kitty kept shooting back and forth across the trail we were hiking on teasing and driving the dogs crazy for about a mile — it shot out of the bushes on one side, tracked us down the hill and then shot out on the other side. It did this several times until it finally took off across a parking lot.
They WILL mate with your domestic cats. Make really beautiful cats, but they won’t sit on your lap.
