Some less than thoughtful republicans think it is fine and dandy for a governor to order you to go buy a Volt electric car, but they think it’s awful for a president to order you to do that.

They think there’s a passage in the Constitution that says: “Goverors are allowed to order you to buy stuff even if you don’t want to buy it. If there’s ever a horseless carriage called an electric Volt, then you damned sure better listen to your governor when he orders you to buy it.”

Conservatives, as opposed to Republicans, don’t fall for that crap.

Okay, let's be thoughtful.

Here's a federal mandate that unfortunately many so-called conservatives including apparently Reagan supported in 1986...

Anybody who doesn't have heath insurance is "entitled" to the above free healthcare paid for of course by private citizens who give the free healthcare.

As a reaction to the above unconstitutional mandate, there were some conservatives who supported mandatory health insurance. Newt Gingrich was one. There were others.

Mitt's comments were along those lines.

An unconstitutional solution to be sure.

Never the less, there is not one conservative anywhere calling for the repeal of EMTALA.

Not even here.
