Here is a New York Times article from February 6, 1990, pre-literary agent bio, that says he was born in Hawaii.

And he also wrote a book (1995) that talks about his being born in Hawaii.

I am aware of both. These two examples do not change my impression that he led people to believe he was from Kenya. Race Bannon is a freeper on this website who personally claims to have met Barack Obama in Hawaii, and he likewise claims that Barack Obama told him he was from Kenya. I have also exchanged messages with a commenter who claims to have met Barack Obama in Lake Decatur in Decatur, IL when he came for a visit with his mother and Peter Geitner's children (Treasury Secretary Timothy Geitner's father) back in the 1970s, and he too said Barack told him he was born in Kenya. I regard it as credible because everything else he told me I was able to verify as true. Did you know that Ann Dunham actually worked for Peter Geitner?

There are a couple of videos of Barack Obama insinuating that he is from Kenya, and there are at least two of his wife doing the same thing.

Apart from that, one of the Hawaiian Newspapers ran an article (later corrected) asserting he was born in Indonesia. Chris Mathews (On Hardball) claimed back in 2007 that Barack was born in Indonesia, and insinuates his source was Hillary Clinton who was supposedly attacking Barry for having been born in Indonesia.

I haven't even gotten in to the half dozen African Newspapers claiming such, or the NPR article claiming he was born in Kenya. There are so many people getting his birth place as Kenya, that it just stretches credibility to believe that they all came up with the same delusion at the same time.

Now we have this latest revelation that he was posing as a "Kenyan" back in 1991, and so it just stands to reason that the source of all the confusion is the guy who claims to be from here when it suits his purpose, and claims to be from somewhere else when THAT suits his purpose.

I think it suited little Barry Obama to believe he was the son of some very important man in some exotic far off foreign country. I don't think there is a shred of truth to it, but i'm sure the fantasy comforted little abandoned Barry.

You original comment was that prior to 2006, he consistently claimed to be born in Kenya. But the examples you cite are for the most part post 2006.

1.) New York Times, February 6th, 1990 - “born in Hawaii”
2.) Los Angeles Times, March 19th, 1990 - “born in Hawaii”
3.) Associated Press, May 3rd, 1990 - “born in Hawaii”
4.) Literary Agent Bio, 1991 - “born in Kenya”
5.) “Dreams of My Father”, 1995 - birth hospital in Hawaii
6.) Honolulu Advertiser, January 8th, 2006 - “Both were born outside the country - Obama in Indonesia, Duckworth in Thailand.”
7.) Hardball with Chris Matthews, December 18, 2007 - “But didn‘t Hillary dump on Obama a few days ago for playing up his Indonesian roots? So, what is she up to here? Is she pushing how great he is for having been born in Indonesia, or what, or simply reminding everybody about his background, his Islamic background? “
8.) Michelle Obama, December, 2007 - “Barack a Kenyan”
9.) Michelle Obama, August, 2008 - “His home country in Kenya”
