No, you’re not. You are voting (by not voting) to give up representation. You should at least vote for a person who doesn’t stand a chance but shares your values.
You alaso need to examine the degree of ideological purity you demand from a candidate. If you are looking a candidate that shares your views on every issue, then you need to put yourself on the ballot because you are the only person you agree with 100% (I hope).
In a representative democracy with only two parties, voting involves a lot of compromises. Perhaps it is time to abandon the two party system and go to a multi-party government with coalitions formed by the politicans after they get into office. But, somehow that seems even more open to corruption than the system we have in place.
Ideological purity is our biggest problem right now because the voters from both parties demand it. The Democrat politicians are willing to play along and be as pure as their constituents demand, at least until the election, and then the voters forget the promises. Conservatives have a memory, so our Etch-A-Sketch candidates (not just Romney, but all of them) have a hard time promising one thing before the election and doing something else afterwards so they have to be more honest up-front.
But, their honesty angers the voters because they want purity now and always. Our entire political system is broken badly and there is no fix. Voting for no one is the worst solution of all.

Now is the time for all good men and women to put Country above Party.
For far to long the RINO Wing of the Republican Party has been in control of losing our National Elections.
The time has come to cast aside the hold-your-nose clothespins that the RINOs expect us to use when they ask us to vote for their tweedle-dumb or tweedle-dumber Candidates.
To all TEXAS Primary voters: List the top 10 demonstrated positive values for each Candidate for all offices, and vote accordingly.
If there is no Candidate that meets your values for a given office, then leave that office slot blank.
This will then be a “None-Of-The-Above,” or ABSTAIN vote, AND the fact that you voted in the election will be counted, as you turn in your ballot.
This “None-of-the-Above” vote is a protest voter message directed to the Republican National Committee: CHOOSE BETTER CANDIDATES WITH BETTER VALUES IF YOU WANT OUR VOTES NEXT TIME!
Even if you turn in a totally unmarked ballot for any Candidate for any office your ballot will still be recorded as a legal vote in the election.
One office slot left blank, or all office slots left blank your ballot will still be counted as a ballot cast in this election.
Vote FOR, AGAINST, OR LEAVE BLANK, BUT DO CAST YOUR BALLOT.
The worst thing that you could do is to stay home and not vote.
The RINOs love it when we do not vote, as it means to them that we are just “apathetic,” and thus the RINOs know that we will let them do anything that they want to.
To throw off the stranglehold RINO yoke, we need a massive voter turnout on this TEXAS Primary Election Day!
Vote FOR the VALUES that has made America great!
