What? I thought the Obamamobile was selling like hotcakes!?!?!
Funny, eh ?
Cur the “OBAMA BRINGING JOBS BACK TO AMERICA!” Campaign Commercials!
GM has already announced that it set sales goals for the Volt of 45,000 units for the calendar year. How is that corrupt company going to sell so many overpriced golf carts if they are building something different at the golf cart factory?
This move seems to be the proof they’ve finally started to stop believing their own lies.
If I remember correctly, that Canadian plant was rated very high in quality control. Seems like a dumb move.
Dear GM,
If you were smart you would immediately ABANDON any and all plans to continue to produce EITHER OF THESE CARS. My 2001 Impala, bought NEW started falling apart at 80,000, Biggest piece of CRAP they ever came up with except maybe the VOLT. The malibu is running a close second. Why we bailed out this loser company is beyond me. I run my Chevy Work trucks 250,000 miles without ever doing a repair OF ANY KIND, except brakes, shocks, oil changes...I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY CAR. Instead I will be buying FORD’S since they did not take Blood Money from OBAMA, already bought 2 crown vic police interceptors and love them.
Ping
It has nothing to do with quality, numbers, or profit.
GM is bleeding money again, still.
2,000 VOTERS in detroit will have jobs this November. (and their spouses, cousins, and friends will vote too)
Screw canada, it’s all about HIM getting re-elected.
When are they going to do a retro car 56-57 Chevys.
(Never would be the same, I know.....still might be fun)

And we see the failure of their union-devised business plan...again!
In essence, this means that GM has ^contractually^ promised the UAW that it will build 45,000 Volts. In turn, this sales goal means that the franchises better sell them or get their franchise threatened.
GM needs to re-tool their plan of business.
Other than the Vette the ‘57 Chevy was the nicest looking Chevy ever built, in my view.
GM and its union and government owners can choke on whatever kinds of cars they want to make. Falling of deaf ears. I will NEVER even consider something made by GM.
Edsel > Volt
Just wrote an email about the content of this thread to someone, and mentioned GE seemed IMO to be waiting for the results of the election before completing their commitment to purchase those 20,000 Volts.
It seems to me it would be a smart move on the part of GE rather than get stuck with all that costly junk.
