My two grand daughters, due to no fault of their own, have been put in foster care in Bulloch County, GA. Could anyone from that area please give me a heads up on what to expect from the social workers there? I am trying to get them transferred here, to Israel, where we can take care of them.

GA social workers are the most ignorant and apathetic fvcks on the face of the planet.
This is going to be a very difficult proposition, because very few state courts with jurisdiction over child custody are going to be willing to send children outside the borders of their own state, much less out of the country. You need a very good family law attorney and a very good international/Israeli immigration attorney.
Try the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory at www.martindale.com if you don’t have one already. Then try to call the county bar association in the Georgia county where the kids reside for the lawyer referral service. Finally, check with the Israeli consulate closest to where the kids are to see if they have suggestions on counsel or course of action.

Since you’re not getting many responses, I’ll offer this, for what it’s worth.
In my experience (not in GA), after the child was removed from the home for cause (truly abusive parents) and placed in foster care, the state gave the parents one year to demonstrate even minimal willingness to get their act together. When the parents failed to do so (they hardly tried at all), the state terminated their parental rights and placed the child with relatives for adoption.
I can only guess relatives outside the USA would be considered for placement before strangers but, I really have no idea. Sorry.
Also in my experience, and in my personal opinion, the social workers I encountered during the ordeal were GREAT. Every last one was truly concerned with the child’s well-being. But, the child’s former parents would offer an opposing opinion. It all depends on one’s viewpoint. :)
