Adidas Releases New Slave Shoes with Shackles and All
Your Black World ^ | June 18, 2012 | Dr. Boyce Watkins

Posted on 06/18/2012 1:40:04 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I literally froze up when I saw a new design from Adidas set to hit stores in August. JS Roundhouse Mids, are purple and gray, with HANDCUFFS that wrap around the ankles. Yes, I said handcuffs…shackles….the stuff that our ancestors wore for 400 years while experiencing the most horrific atrocities imaginable, most of which were never documented in the history books and kept away from you in the educational system, all so you would be willing to put shackles on your ankles today and not be so sensitive about it.

I laughed when I saw the shoes, because I already know how many people are going to say, “Boyce, why are you overreacting?” There is always a group of negroes who are more than happy to resubmit themselves to slavery. In fact, commercialized hip-hop culture teaches black men everything they need to know in order to guarantee their own self-destruction (stay high/drunk, carry a gun, sleep with every woman that moves, remain uneducated and waste your money). We follow instructions very well.

First, we get to watch black kids shoot one another over $200 Air Jordans that cost $12 to make. Then, we get to watch people stand in line for a week to buy a pair of Air Yeezys. Now, we get to watch black men willingly put shackles on their ankles because they think it’s cool to do so. This is even worse than when Red Bull held a basketball tournament where free men would play against one another at various prison locations around the country.

When I see the shoes, I also think about the ankle bracelets being worn by far too many men who are affected by the mass incarceration epidemic that the White House says nothing about. The black family has ripped itself apart because so many of our fathers, brothers, husbands and sons are locked away in prison, leaving their children vulnerable to all the horrible things that happen when the man of the house is not away. I am offended by these shoes because there is nothing funny about the prison industrial complex, which is the most genocidal thing to happen to the black family since slavery itself.

As they say, “an educated mind makes you unfit for slavery.” But Adidas, like Nike, understands that there are plenty of uneducated minds that are quite willing to go along with this kind of ridiculous stuff. You won’t see me or my kids wearing any of this stuff, and I hope your kids won’t either. Chains on our ankles are bad enough; but we must also get rid of the chain on our brains.

Reading that article makes me think of Belushi in "Animal House":

"What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"

Of course, Bluto was right to convince his fellow reprobates that it was not time to give up. This guy writing the article is just stupid from the first word.

Check the math. I guess that the atrocities weren't the only secret the educational system kept from them. (1607+400=2007, slavery went out in 1865)

Prison garb is optional and behaviourally controlled in most instances, much as for anyone else, and even while slavery existed, there were free blacks (some of whom owned slaves).

This revisionist tripe gets more tedious by the lie.

I am not surprised at all. Black Studies? He should have gone into Womyn’s Studies instead.

Kids are just looking for the next thing to shock their parents. Tattoos, body piercings, purple hair, pants below the butt with underwear showing, music that repeats the 'n' word have all been done to death.

BTW, if my child bought a pair of those, (as if I would let him), I would cut those yellow bracelets right off.

Adidas is not exactly some fly-by-night company. They must have conducted some market research that indicated these ugly things would sell.

Maybe they’re trying to take over the market in bondage-wear.

I’m trying to visualize the market research Trayvon focus groups that Adidas assembled to test this design.

The first 30 black slaves in North America arrived in 1619. That won't hit its 400th year for 7 more years.

His African ancestors were slaves to their own African cousins long before the American trade. Where does he think mean whitey shopped?

Slavery in Africa doesn’t count; that’s cultural, so there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s only slavery in North America that’s racist, so that’s what matters to professional racists like the writer.

“The black family has ripped itself apart because so man of our fathers, brothers, husbands and sons are locked away in prison, leading their children vulnerable to all the horrible things that happen when the man of the house is not away.”

MMMM, MMMM, MMMMM

‘’It’s deconstruction time.

;-)

“The black family has ripped itself apart, ...” Call the Waaambulance!

Reality is those black families are disfunctional and churned out criminals. Said criminals were dumb enough to be jailed.

Gotta love this line: “so man of our fathers, brothers, husbands and sons are locked away in prison”.
The writer probably meant “so many” rather than “so man”, but whatever.

It gets better, as in: “leading their children vulnerable”.

Call Captain ObviousMan. First, fat too many of those Urban Feral offspring are correctly known as bastards. The word has meaning, meaning and predictive value developed over centuries.

However, the rest of the sentence also bears examination. “leading their children vulnerable to all the horrible things that happen when the man of the house is not away.”

RacissWriter can’t write, as he probably meant to write “..when the man of the house is away.” rather than “when the man of the house is not away.”.

PS “Away” is a deliberate deceptive phrase for substituting for “imprisoned”.
