Honduras is remarkably free. In fact, I feel far freer there than in the US. The Honduran government doesn’t feel it needs to control every move made by the Honduran people. Nor would the people let it if it wanted to.
Importantly, every elective office in Honduras is term limited. And the last guy who tried to overturn the term limits — the Marxist Zelaya — was impeached and escorted out of the country.
