Ecclesiastes 7:7-8a Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come? No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death.
Since the beginning of time people have a natural curiosity of what the future holds. If we had a foreshadowing of what was in store for our life choices whether it be about relationships, financial security, health, careers, etc we would enter into things much more cautiously. Personally Ive caught myself saying If I had only known that this would be the end result I never would have made that decision. I believe we have a right to ask God why. And to ask also how can I grow from this experience?
Being human I like things to go smoothly and have been through enough personal pain that it has made me overly cautious. Trust comes slowly and I like things within my control. Being a Christian woman I know that as frustrating as it is to live through these trials, its just part of the journey God has placed me on. It seems whenever I start doing things on my own and not consulting God first, He shows me just how utterly dependant I am on Him. Will I ever learn?
But what about people that dont have a personal relationship with God? What is stopping them from investing their time and money into searching for comfort in the wrong areas. God makes it unmistakable in His Word that it is wrong to seek out psychics for information of any kind. John Edwards and Sylvia Brown...

Knowing ‘what’ will happen to you seems like it would be a good thing. Especially since it would seem it would allow you to ‘control’ things.
What would happen is that we would breed a society full of immature and undeveloped individuals (and we are already pretty far down that river). Adversity develops ‘character’. Having an sickness such as influenza or measles creates immunity. Facing challenges improves stature.
It is not WHAT happens to you that matters anyway.
It is HOW YOU CHOOSE to deal with it that does matter, and who can predict that?
Might I ask, since this article came from your own blog, why you didn’t put the entire article on your thread?
Look at his posting history. He’s not a FReeper and contributes in no way. He just uses Free Republic as an advertising venue hoping to get hits for his blog.
You sure don’t treat freerepublic like a Christian should, you use it, exploit it, all to steer it’s membership over to your site.
Hey guys,
It’s my understanding that it’s ok to excerpt on the bloggers section?
Well, let’s see what Jim has to say about it:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2636843/posts?page=552#552
“I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.
If a blogger cant or refuses do that, and if he constantly complains or fights with our participants over it, then Id just as soon he doesnt post here. Its not my job to make his content or his presentation or cooperation acceptable to our readers. Thats his job. And if he cannot do it or refuses to do it and continues posting brief excerpts only and obviously attempting to draw away our participants while loudly complaining about it, then I have no sympathy for his complaints and the more apt I am to ban his account and blog.”
Sure. The question is do you only post an 'excerpt' of your blog pimp here to draw hits to your site ?
Even though it may be OK to only post an excerpt, why don't you post the whole thing. There is no rule against that.
I might point out that you haven’t gotten many ‘posts’ to your thread, and POST #1, where you have a chance to ‘evalute’ or ‘provoke’ a response from readers about the article, you remained ‘mute’.
If it was not your intention to use FR as a means to get hits, you are sure making yourself look bad.
You have only responded to complaints about pimping, and not to my post about your article.
So.... what do you have ... a BLOG PIMP FIND APP ?
We all have our special little abilities. ;-)
You have had this pointed out to you many times but you deliberately do wrong for personal gain.
If you want to be a freeper then participate, if you have no interest in freerepublic except as a place to steal clicks from, then at least don't play up your Christian image while doing it.
Just post your complete posts and read some other freerepublic threads and join in the conversation and effort.
Yeah, that's what my mom said to me when I was a kid, in lieu of a 'sex talk'.
