Unlike Obama, I have slave ancestors...

So they were white ???

They were slaves...

What are ya...racist ???

Anyhoo...

My ancestors in MASS the land of Kennedy were sold into slavery...

Wheres my reparations ???

Plus reparations for the descendants of Loyalists would be nice...

During “the troubles” 50-100 thousand Loyalists were forced from their homes and had to flee into Canada...

Many of them had land that they had worked on for years stolen from them..

When they were able to return they found that the US government had sold they land and belongings to strangers..

When do I get my reparations for the houses and trading post burnt and the lands in Mehoopany, Wyoming County, PA and Herkimer County, NY that were confiscated by the US government ???

Eh ???

We are trillions in debt. I think everyone has gotten enough reparations. It’s not my fault if it was squandered.

Blacks have had $4 trillion spent on them so far, yet, they still drop out of school and sit on their lazy asses waiting for the next handout.

If anyone actually cared for blacks they would cut off welfare and make them get off their butts and earn a living.

Undoubtedly, the huge wealth gap between Black and White people in the United States is due to the country’s history of legal and institutionalized discriminatory practices.

To what does he attribute the huge wealth gap between White people in the United States and Black people in Africa?

Does Africa also have a history of legal and institutionalized discriminatory practices?

My family never owned slaves. I had two great-great-great uncles that fought for the Union in the Civil War (father's side). My grandfather and grandmother (mother's side) immigrated from Sweden in the first decade of the 20th century. Swedes never owned slaves.

The people who were slaves have been dead for over 100 years; ditto for the people who owned slaves. Exactly why should people who never felt the bite of slavery or owned slaves have to pay anything to people alive today?

What I see is a lot of people wrapping themselves in “victimhood” and trying to extort money from people with no connection to this ancient practice. Go pound sand.

Undoubtedly, the huge wealth gap between Black and White people in the United States is due to the country’s history of legal and institutionalized discriminatory practices. A good way to confirm or refute this would be to compare the status of black immigrants from the Caribbean and Africa to those native to the US (native in this sense refers to blacks that were brought to the US prior to the Civil War). If the poor economic and educational situation of native blacks is the result of discrimination, then these blacks should also be doing poorly. I doubt that someone who is racist against blacks would be more inclined to hire someone from the Dominican Republic. But first-generation blacks from the Caribbean close the income gap between native blacks and whites by a large percent - and by the second generation, they actually exceed that of the general white population. There are similar results with African immigrants.

In the antebellum South it was illegal to teach slaves to read; literate slaves were more difficult to "manage".

Now, inner-city blacks refuse to learn to read because that would be "acting white".

My great-great-great grandfather suffered and died from effects of going to war to subjugate the South, thus making it possible for the abolishment of slavery. Because of this, his family lost their sole provider, and was poor and then had to work harder to eke out a living. All that hard work put a toll on their lives as well. My family and I am now suffering from the generational effects of his early, yet preventable demise.

Two can play at this game.

My great grandfather lost a leg. My great uncle and and great-great grandfather were killed.

Our family has paid its fair share.

The Black culture can end this nonsense in two generations. Stop teaching your children that the white world owes them a living because 152 years ago Black people were slaves. Educate them to the fact that the “Reverends” are race-baiting poverty pimps who would be out of a job and broke in the streets if the racial problems that they promote were ever to be solved.

Remind them that 500,000 people died in the Civil war, most of them white, to FREE the slaves.

Spread the word that it was the Republicans who freed the slaves, and it was the Republicans who were against the KKK, Jim Crow laws, racial segregation, poll taxes, and so on.

It was democrats who used fire hoses on Blacks who wanted integration in schools and the workplace.

Remind them that if they self-segregate and “hate whitey” it is their fault if they’re segregated. No one who extends the hand of friendship should have it bitten off.
