I know she’s not to be trusted. Mrs. Nelson, I mean. And I know that Dr. West retired from the practice of medicine 5 years before Obama was born.

But that doesn’t change my point which was that Abercrombie might have sincerely believed the story that was going around in the media: That Obama was born at Kapiolani and that Dr. West (at least for a time, according to Nelson’s implication to the media) delivered him.

Abercrombie, like the rest of Obama Sr.’s friends, probably didn’t know anything about any wife and baby in Hawaii. He first met Obama the younger when he played t-ball about age 6 (or so he said). He’s a friend of the family, going way, way back. Mrs. Nelson and Abercrombie both happen to have roots in Buffalo. That’s neither here nor there.

My point is that Abercrombie MIGHT have believed that Dr. West did deliver Obama. He MIGHT have found out that Dr. West kept a record of all the children that he had delivered and that he donated his papers to the Hawaii State Archives. Then Abercrombie might have figured that even if he can’t get his hands on a birth certificate and even if Obama won’t release a birth certificate (for whatever reason), he, Abercrombie, can clear it all up by finding that record that was “written down” on something in the state archives. So he opened his big trap and promised to solve the question once and for all. Then when he went to look, he either couldn’t find that book because it was disappeared like so much else has been disappeared or he discovered that Obama’s name wasn’t in it. (And of course it wasn’t there, because Dr. West didn’t deliver babies in 1961.)

But Nelson and the media told that story and MAYBE Abercrombie believed that story. Later on, he had no choice but to clam up once he found out that there was nothing to help him either in the archives or in the birth records at the Hawaiian Dept. of Health.

In my opinion, either the original record is sealed because of an adoption or the “original” record came into being only about 2008, when Madelyn filed an affidavit. Or maybe Obama himself filed the affidavit and the Hawaiians, being eager to help him out, accepted it and created a very late birth certificate that, unfortunately, cannot serve as evidence of jack sh**.
