A naturalized citizen could be eligible to run for the offices of state senator (Illinois) or U.S. Senator, and hold those offices. Did BO show those naturalization papers when he ran for those offices? How did he prove his United States citizenship? Did he wave his stale U.S. "Hawaiian" birth certificate under the noses of the Sec. of State and other officials and say "See, here's the proof" he was eligible for those offices, even though the B.C. was no longer valid to prove his nationality if he was depatriated and later naturalized?"

Who's to say he even showed anything to be placed on the state ballot for state Senator? He probably simply signed a paper that said he was eligible and...bingo! He's on the ballot, no questions asked (or answered).
It appears that many/most(?) states don't require such documentation and some even appear to be offended that such documentation should be required (these days).
I thought the RAT party signed off on him...That’s why Nan had to delete the paragraph about qualifying from the certification.
