Good for you! When I first installed DirecTV I saw the myriad lib channels and programming that came with it. I called customer service. "Hi, I'm a new subscriber and I realize that I have zero-interest in at least 30 channels that are included in my package." Them: "How can we assist you?" me: "I will trade you Current, Link, WLIW (face-it, who needs the Long Island Version of PBS anyway?), BBC-America, HLN, CNN, MSNBC, Bravo, ESPN, ESPN2, Sundance, and all the kid channels in exchange for The Outdoor Channel. That's a 30-1 swap and you are getting the best of the deal." Them: "Sir, we can't do that, but we will add the Outdoor Channel at a charge of $8 per month... Ala Carte." Me: "Ala Carte? No - you don't understand. I'm trading you 30 channels for one not-so-premium channel... and if it were truly Ala Carte, why would I order all this other crap when I just wanted a burger?" them: "Sir, we can't do that... but we can..." Me: "Yeah, I know Ala Carte... just turn these channels off..." Them: "sir, it would cost YOU more for us to block all of these channels rather than charge you a package rate." I think they gave me free HBO for being a whiner... oh boy - I got to watch "Recount" in Spanish...

Soooo, you call to complain about too many channels with progressive agendas and they add HBO for free.
I do believe that's referred to as a Pyrrhic victory.

I talked them into giving me NFL Sunday Ticket for half price last year. We’ll see what they have to offer this football season. (Hubby loves football) I could go for NHL Center Ice, myself.
