[OFFICIAL CHARGES OF DISCRIMINATION FILED BY GAY RIGHTS REPRESENTATION AGAINST CHICK FIL A - IL]

The Civil Rights Agenda, a local LGBT rights advocacy group, filed multiple complaints with the Illinois Department of Human Rights Thursday, alleging that the Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A restaurant chain’s “intolerant corporate culture” violates Illinois law and a provision in the state’s Human Rights Act.

“In our current high speed media and social media environment, Chick-fil-A has announced and caused to be published, to hundreds of millions of people, that LGBT people are unacceptable and objectionable,” said Jacob Meister, Governing Board President of TCRA and the attorney who filed the complaint. “They have made it clear the lives of LGBT individuals are unacceptable to them and that same-gender families are unwelcome at Chick-fil-A.”

Besides since when do homosexuals get to dictate what beliefs a company must have?

This has moved from the ranks of "possible" to the category "highly probable." I would not be surprised to see this aggrieved individual win his case.

Is that you Bawney?

This will be laughed out of court. If anything, CFA has grounds to file a lawsite against the cities of Chicago and Boston for government prosecution of religious freedom. Pagin Mark Levin!

The music room at Espial, the Italian bistro at 948 W. Armitage, has a new look and a new name—the 13th Floor. Owners John Zaharakis and Christopher Bukrey have replaced the couches and overstuffed chairs with more functional tables and bar chairs, upping seating capacity from 32 to 56. They’ve also repainted the room in scarlet and added new paintings and other artwork. Zaharakis said the changes were necessary because customers were treating the space more like a coffeehouse than a music venue. “We needed to do something drastic to change that Perception,” he said. The 13th Floor will present a mix of jazz, blues, and folk music three or four nights a week.

The name matches as do other facts.

There has got to be more news coverage of this in the coming days, at which point he will be identified.

But you likely have the right person.

How it would come to be that this particular individual(s) would alone file a complaint is another story, and one which must be connected to recent legal actions in the state of Illinois.

So where is the discrimination?

He said he supports traditional marriage. According to progressives, thats discrimination. The left isn’t going to quit on this. Either the CEO backs down, or court costs will cost him a fortune.

What we need is a good commander. There are lots of folks with the spirit now, I believe, but in need of an equally spirited and qualified commander.

In Nazi Germany, one could not get promoted at a job unless they were a member of the Nazi party in good standing.

It’s just a short ways off here in the US....

"I would not be surprised to see this aggrieved individual win his case."

Yep. Don't forget they could have filed this in any one of forty-one states, but chose Illinois. Why is that?

Corruption capital of the U.S. Perhaps they know that the judiciary is bought and paid for.

Mr. Cathy was just reaffirming his support for the law of the land, DOMA and his religious beliefs. These folks are the intolerant ones, but if they are successful in their litigation, that paves the way for laws that state you cannot speak against Islam either or it will be hate speech or violating Islams’ civil rights. Seems to me that this is all a precursor to that goal. The Islamists are using gays to push these laws through and then it will be a free ride for them. Then the gays will be of no further use to them, then guess what?
All of our freedoms are being severely threatened here esp. Freedom of Speech, it’s on the line here as is Freedom of Religion, then Freedom of Assembly and the Right to Bear Arms and on and on. We have to fight this, we have to win in November, we don’t have a choice.

I would donate to their defense fund, if it comes to that. But Chick-Fil-A is riding a wave of unprecedented popularity. The courts will decide against them only at their own peril. A victory for the homos here could bring us to the brink of war.

You know more about Romney’s Mass. record on this issue than I do. I wonder, though, if Romney’s actions were guided by his convictions or or a desire to remain politically viable in Mass. If the latter is the case, then there is some hope regarding his position/stance as President. Obama is favor of gay marriage, and while it may be true that Romney has contributed to the current mess, I don’t think this lawsuit would have been filed had Obama not “evolved”

I hope Chick-Fil-A doesn’t just settle.

Either they do or the left will drain them all the blood they have, one drop at a time. Bribe some CFA employees to say how badly they were treated and it’s all over. Can you imagine what OWS type protests would do to the restaurants?

“Either the CEO backs down, or court costs will cost him a fortune.”

I’m sure he’s got fortune to spend. If he does back down he’ll lose a fortune in future revenue.

Did you see the tiny print at the top of the second page?

'Claims of John Zaharakis'. Looks like they were too stupid to mark out the guys name on the other pages.

I checked, and there are only 4 'John Zaharakis' in the entire country, and only one in Chicago, IL.

Here's and interesting tidbit:

------

Best Gay Chicago has a story today about how Cocktail owner Geno Zaharakis may have sold the business as an effect of an ongoing legal battle. Here’s what they report:

Chicago’s Boystown bar Cocktail is suing its landlord and two former employees for $10 million over an alleged conspiracy to ruin the bar’s good name and put it out of business.

John “Geno” Zaharakis, who owns Cocktail...

Found here:
http://neighborhoods.redeyechicago.com/boystown/around-the-web/2011/08/31/whats-up-with-the-cocktail-controversy/

------

I also noticed there is NO CLAIM NUMBER on the form. Odd, since that's a requirement FOR the filing.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've just visited a gay site and feel the desperate need to shower. Ugh!
