That's actually kind of the point. White people are sort of presumed to be the 'default,' so to speak. It's was actually really hard to find that example, Google "first white person to" and the auto-complete fills it out with "perform on Soul Train."

No the point is that Gabby’s remarkable effort, dedication and success have nothing to do with her color -— except to the liberal media and others of like mind.

When Gabby was told that she was the first Black person to win the gold her reply was..."Oh yeah, I forgot about that."

It's a good thing that there are folks around like you to make sure that she never again forgets for a minute that she's not just Gabby Douglas, gold medalist, daughter, sister, person --- she's first and foremost Black.
