I’m not fan of Assad, but these clowns probably aren’t much better. I think the most likely outcome is that Syria will be crippled as a effective state for at least the next 4-5 years. That might be a good thing...or not. Assad may be evil, but he is also rational.
Kinda reminds me of the Shaw of Iran and, heck, to a much lesser degree even the previous governments of Egypt and Lybia.
The best thing that can possibly happen right now is an uprising in Iran. That just might lead to uprisings against the Mullahs by students and others who are seeking freedom.
At the worse, it slows down Iran.
